Oil Seals (Rotary Seals)
Oil seals (also called rotary seals or shaft seals) cover a wide range of applications, from home appliances to automotive and power plant machinery, industrial pumps, gas turbines and airplanes, and compressors.
With a modern system, surface speeds can reach 30 m / s and operating temperatures can be 250 degrees Celsius. For this type of oil seals, general-purpose high-performance oil seals may be used. When the velocity rises to 90 m / s, the lip is made with a PTFE-based compound to reduce heat production. For high-pressure applications, we offer a wide range of oil seal profiles made with PTFE-based compounds.
Here at Advanced Sealing Devices, we manufacture and design reliable oil seals for demanding applications. If the oil seal is not properly selected, even some leakage rates can be inconvenient and cost many users, while causing environmental pollution. Note that oil seals are not only used to seal lubricating oil but can also be used to seal other fluids such as water, food, and chemicals. We understand that the reliability and reputation of your system depend on the proper functioning of these oil seals.
Standard oil seals operate in a non-pressurized or low-pressure liquid environment. If you need more pressure, contact us and we will offer you another type of oil seal. Using a standard type of oil seal in a high-pressure position may cause lips to deform and wear out. This shortens the life of the oil seal and results in unnecessary shutdown. If the tolerances of your housing are not checked as closely as standard housings, then the outer casing of the oil seals can be made with a special profile so that the oil seals can be properly inserted into their housing before removing the press tool from the unit
If the application is such that lubricating fluid is not available continuously or operating temperature, fluid compatibility, speed, and pressure are more demanding, then oil seals are made with exterior stainless steel housings, cleaner and full PTFE lips coverings (ASD SS-PTFE type). This type of oil seal is widely used by our customers in the automotive industry and in the transmission. The stainless steel housing with PTFE lip oil seal supports higher-skill machines and allows longer oil changes. Our ASD SS-PTFE model is particularly suited for dry-running applications, such as running an engine dry for a while while the oil spills, especially after long storage or shipping times. Some design considerations are required in your system before using the ASD SS-PTFE oil seal; Contact us and we will advise you on this. Below are some examples of stainless steel seals that we make for our customers.
In addition to oil seals manufacturers in India, sealing means may be provided which seal on the radial side of the system, as opposed to the axial surface of the oil seals. With these types of seals, the surface treatment of the shaft can be less critical and the seals can only work with little difference and misalignment.
Various types of precision oil seals
In the manufacture of oil seals, we use modern polymeric sealants and rely on a good understanding of the sealing mechanism that occurs on the sealing surface. Therefore, we will provide reliable oil seals and improve the environment. We offer the following types of oil seals:
General-purpose high-performance oil seal
Rubber fabric oil seal
V rotary seal
PTFE O-ring Energy saving oil seal
PTFE metal can oil seal
PTFE spring energy oil seal
PTFE lip oil seal
